Our Vision.

We envision a world where movement is understood as an intelligent, responsive system—supporting resilience, expression, deep strength and health across a lifespan rather than short-term performance or correction.

About CoreSpring®

CoreSpring® began in 2019 as a creative exploration—an experiment in applying direct spring resistance in a new and portable way. What started as something novel and intriguing quickly revealed unexpected depth. The simplicity of the apparatus proved deceptively powerful. Through consistent testing and application, it became clear that this humble design held real potential—not only as equipment, but as the foundation of a distinct method.

Recognizing its value, the apparatus was carefully refined and protected through a multi-year patent process. Working across thousands of miles with a trusted and dedicated team, the design evolved through ongoing iteration, feedback, and practical use before patents were secured. What may look simple today was shaped by years of testing, adjustment, customization and commitment to doing it well.

Long before CoreSpring® existed, Charlyn had spent more than 25 years in professional practice and owned and operated a successful brick-and-mortar Pilates studio for 13 years. For over a decade, she designed and led structured 12-week transformation programs—what she now calls immersions—guiding clients through progressive, customized pathways toward strength, resilience, and pain-free living. These immersion models became the blueprint for how CoreSpring® programming would later be structured to get results.

When global shutdowns paused in-person commercial teaching, CoreSpring® was already in development. The method was refined further through one-to-one sessions and small-group Zoom classes, where the apparatus proved its adaptability and effectiveness in real homes and real lives. The results were not diminished outside a studio setting—they were amplified by accessibility.

Today, the CoreSpring® Studio primarily serves a thriving online community. The studio is not defined by walls, but by structure: progressive programming, direct feedback, immersion pathways, and meaningful connection. Participants engage from anywhere while receiving carefully designed movement education rooted in decades of studio leadership and clinical insight.

CoreSpring® is both a patented apparatus and a fully developed method—designed to cultivate intelligent movement, resilience, and sustainable strength. It honors the depth of traditional Pilates while expanding what a modern studio can be—online, in partnership, and in person.

Founder of CoreSpring® | Creator of the CoreSpring® Method

Charlyn Huss d’Anconia is the founder of CoreSpring® and the creator of the CoreSpring® Method—a distinct, spring-based approach to movement designed to refine alignment, enhance coordination, and transform how the body organizes itself in motion and in life.

Her work is deeply informed by personal experience. After navigating spinal pain and scoliosis from a young age, Charlyn became increasingly aware of how physical discomfort shapes not only movement, but behavior, confidence, and participation in life. Through years of exploration, study, and application, she developed an approach that restored her own spine to a pain-free, functional state—an experience that continues to inform how she teaches, innovates, and guides others.

She has been teaching movement since 1990 and training teachers since 1999, bringing more than three decades of experience to her work as an educator, innovator, and method developer. She is the co-inventor of the patented CoreSpring® apparatus (design and utility) and has spent years developing and refining the CoreSpring® Method through direct application, teacher training, and client transformation.

Charlyn is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and the founder of Playhouse Pilates: Body Smarts and Performing Arts, now celebrating 19 years. While the commercial studio space has closed, Playhouse Pilates continues as her private practice and creative platform—supporting ongoing work in movement, performing arts, nutrition, and education. It also served as the incubator for the CoreSpring® Method, particularly through its evolution into online programming during the shutdowns.

At the core of her work is a long-standing exploration of the body as an intelligent, communicative system. For more than 20 years, she has studied the enteric nervous system alongside emerging insights into the heart’s neurological role, integrating this with graduate-level work in psycholinguistics. This interdisciplinary foundation informs her distinct approach to teaching—one that emphasizes how language, imagery, and internal awareness influence movement, coordination, and overall function.

She has taught advanced anatomy for movement professionals with a focus on helping teachers communicate in ways the body can respond to—bridging analytical understanding with intuitive, experience-based learning. This perspective continues to shape the CoreSpring® Method and its emphasis on clarity, responsiveness, and whole-person integration.

In addition to CoreSpring®, she has developed multiple movement systems, including Hydrotone Pilates®, Walk & Roll Pilates®, and BalleCore® training programs, expanding Pilates-based work across environments and populations.

Her work also extends into digestive health through her Beyond Kale & Calories approach—a highly individualized framework focused on improving digestion, reducing inflammation, and supporting the body’s ability to build and sustain itself from within.

Charlyn’s work has been featured in national and regional media, including the Los Angeles Times, and she is an experienced presenter and speaker, having taught and presented at leading industry conferences and professional events. Known for her ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable insight, she brings a dynamic and engaging presence to both live and educational platforms.

Her academic background includes a BA in Psychology and an MA in Humanities (Theatre & Film), with graduate-level work in psycholinguistics. She also studies and teaches the Michael Chekhov technique, deepening her work at the intersection of movement, communication, and human expression.

Charlyn’s writing spans scientific, educational, and consumer platforms. She has contributed to the Chapman University Psychological Journal and co-authored educational materials for USC Keck School of Medicine. Her work has appeared in multiple publications, along with numerous instructional manuals, teacher training materials, and digital publications.

She recently completed a comprehensive high performance coaching certification through the High Performance Institute, further integrating performance psychology into her immersive body-mind training work.
